Peter Snyder

Peter Snyder is from Cowlesville, NY, a small town in western New York state. He serves as a Corrections Officer for the New York State Department of Corrections and has plans for retirement right around the time this show is taking place. His main breed being Lamanchas was started in 1976 and is now the oldest Lamancha herd in New York state. 2025 marks the 50th year of showing dairy goats consistently at the New York State Fair and the Erie County Fair to which he was recently inducted into its’ Hall of Fame.
Peter began judging in 1985, first with the Canadian Goat Society, and then in 1989 obtained his ADGA license. In that time he has traveled to 49 states, throughout Canada and Mexico and has judged as far away as Australia and New Zealand. Grand Island marks his eighth National Show judging assignment. In addition he has served as ADGA District 2 Director for the last 25 years.
Grand Island, Nebraska is a unique location for this ADGA National Show as breeders can equally travel from both the East and West Coast, as well as North and South to attend. Pete looks forward to the healthy competition from all corners of the United States.
Best of luck to you all as we come together for not only the friendly competition but also for the camaraderie and love that we all have for these wonderful dairy goats. Best of luck and safe travels to all! But most of all, have fun and make memories!
